The purpose-built campus will support frontier AI companies and hyperscalers with high-density, liquid-cooled compute infrastructure on a global scale
HYDERABAD | MUMBAI, SEPTEMBER 05, 2026: HyperVault, a subsidiary of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS) has secured 264 acres of land to develop a large-scale AI data center campus of up to 1GW capacity in Hyderabad.
The Hyderabad AI data center campus will be purpose-built to serve the needs of frontier AI companies and hyperscalers, enabling high-density GPU deployments for AI training, inference and advanced computing workloads. The development of the data center campus will be executed in a phased manner, in line with customer demand and technology requirements.
At full build-out, the campus is expected to rank amongst the most advanced and largest AI infrastructure campuses in India. The campus will also leverage green energy and water-neutral design principles as part of the build-out. This reinforces Telangana’s position as a strategic hub for artificial intelligence and advanced digital infrastructure. Beyond the campus, the project is expected to catalyze India’s AI infrastructure ecosystem across power, cooling, networking, construction, engineering and operations. The project will generate several thousand direct and indirect jobs in the region. HyperVault and its partners
are expected to invest up to Rs 70,000 crore to build and manage this infrastructure.
Shri A. Revanth Reddy, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Telangana, in a meeting with officials from TCS’ HyperVault, called the project ‘historic’ not just for Telangana but for India.
“This establishes that Hyderabad is now at the forefront of the global AI revolution with a strong focus on infrastructure. This decade is one of Artificial Intelligence. Access to AI models and compute is fast-becoming public infrastructure and having this compute reside in Telangana gives us an advantage,” said the Chief Minister.
IT & Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu, who led the negotiations to script a record speed partnership for a milestone agreement, said, “We tell the investors and corporations across the world, Telangana Means Business. We move at the speed and with clarity of process that matches the expectations of the tech and corporate world.”
“This agreement germinated from a conversation between the Hon’ble Chief Minister with N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, in Davos in January this year. Since then, within a few months, officials and our friends at HyperVault and TCS have moved at the speed of thought to make this happen,” he said.
K Krithivasan, CEO & MD, TCS, said, “HyperVault advances TCS’ Infrastructure-to-Intelligence strategy by bringing together AI-ready infrastructure with our cloud, engineering, enterprise transformation and AI capabilities. Hyderabad offers the scale, talent and ecosystem to serve global customers. We extend our sincere appreciation to the Hon’ble Chief Minister and the Government of Telangana for their steadfast support and progressive, investment-friendly policies.”
Deepesh Kiran Nanda, CEO and MD, HyperVault AI Data Center Limited, said, “We are building infrastructure for where AI is going: higher density, liquid cooling, larger power blocks and faster deployment. Hyderabad gives us the foundation to build that at scale for frontier AI companies and hyperscalers. We thank the Government of Telangana for extending its support to the development of the infrastructure that will power intelligence.”
HyperVault AI Data Center Limited, a subsidiary of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), is building secure, scalable, AI-ready data center infrastructure for hyperscalers, AI companies, and global enterprises. Backed by the wider Tata ecosystem, with TPG as strategic partner, HyperVault is being built in phases toward capacity in excess of one gigawatt. Its data centers are purpose-built and liquid-cooled, with direct-to-chip cooling, high rack density, an energy model that brings together green power and reliability, and network connectivity. HyperVault provides the foundation to develop, deploy, and scale AI training and inferencing workloads.
