Taking part in a marathon is a major commitment.
Just getting to the starting line requires dedication, planning, perseverance, and putting in a lot of steps in training. Reaching the finish line requires all of the above and a lot more.
If you are a marathon runnner, there are many ways you can motivate yourselves throughout the race.
While for some of you, reaching a goal or setting a new personal best can give you the lift you need to reach the finish line, for the rest, supporting a worthy cause can keep you moving.
Till date, thousands of runners have raised funds for charity and good causes to do their bit to make their communities a better place for all.

The Official 2025 TCS Amsterdam Marathon app is a game-changer for elite athletes, amateur participants, as well as their supporters, family, and friends all following their progress. It enables participants and supporters to access features that enhance the event experience.
Key features include live tracking, enabling you to track your progress during the run.
In the lead-up to race day, you can access an interactive expo map to get the most from the pre-event exhibition.
The app also allows you to share and compare stats with your fellow participants and provides provisional race results after crossing the finish line.
You can take selfies, choose your favourite frame, and post on social channels with the ‘Get Social’ feature.
You will also receive key updates through the app from race organisers and by using the ‘Broadcast Message History’ feature, you can view the ten most recent messages.
The official 2025 TCS Amsterdam Marathon app is a useful tool for supporters too, allowing them to track the progress of participants around the course – a great feature if you are planning to cheer on family or friends during the event.
To follow a participant, just click the tracking tab on the app and enter their name and/or bib number. You can also find expert tips and advice to ensure you run your best race on the big day.
