TCS is the Official Title Partner of the TCS New York City Marathon
The long-term relationship between TCS and New York Road Runners (NYRR)—and, in turn, the New York City running community at large—dates back to 2012, when TCS initially became the New York City marathon’s technology sponsor, and then, two years later, its title sponsor. TCS’ presence as a core part of the city’s signature race has become so widely known that it is no surprise that its partnership with the event was renewed in 2021 for eight more years.
TCS first developed the TCS New York City Marathon app in 2013. In addition to serving the field of 50,000, the app allowed winner Sharon Lokedi’s mother, Rose, to track her daughter from their village near Eldoret, Kenya, in what was Sharon’s first marathon. Athletes are tracked by their loved ones millions of times every year, enabling them to show up on the course where they are needed most or cheered on from far away.
At TCS, we are committed to helping make the TCS New York City Marathon even more inclusive, welcoming, and sustainable. Our technology keeps communities informed as the event evolves, highlights fundraising avenues, and helps all of us integrate sustainable practices on the race weekend.
