India’s Largest Indigenous 4G Rollout
Millions of citizens in over 26,000 unserved villages are experiencing secure and indigenous 4G connectivity for the first time ever
Whenever technology has reached new frontiers, it has accelerated growth by democratising access. This landmark partnership with BSNL is no different. BSNL, with support from TCS, Center for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), and Tejas Networks Limited, has brought reliable and high-speed 4G connectivity to millions in India’s remotest regions. With this project, India becomes the fifth country in the world to build and deploy a fully homegrown telecom stack that supports 4G and beyond.
Self-reliance, empowerment, and digital inclusion at scale are the main tenets of this project that benefits over 22 million Indians. With this rapid, nationwide rollout, young students in remote villages can now access online learning. Farmers and small businesses can reach new markets and consult experts. The network also unlocks secure access to government services and telemedicine, helping bridge the digital divide.
