A leader in sustainable lighting, Current chose to implement a remote endpoint management system.
Current, a prominent commercial and industrial lighting and controls manufacturer, was looking to accelerate the migration of their user application environment following the acquisition of Hubbell C&I Lighting. They envisioned a robust remote enterprise endpoint management system to fortify cybersecurity and provide a consistent customer experience. To achieve this, they partnered with TCS for comprehensive infrastructure services during this transition.
Challenge
The company wanted the migration completed within four months while ensuring the safety and confidentiality of user data.

Solution
TCS designed an innovative remote in-place migration solution resulting in a smooth user experience.
TCS leveraged its extensive knowledge of the lighting industry to design a solution that optimized Intel® EMA. This resulted in significant cost saving and operational efficiency for Current through:
- Minimal device replacement: Using Intel® EMA, Current drastically reduced the need for replacing and procuring new devices by 94%. This saved capital expenses associated with device procurement and ensured seamless migration without the disruption of new device setups.
- Reduced third-party touch support costs: The solution from TCS led to a remarkable 95% reduction in third-party touch support costs. By streamlining the migration process and minimizing the need for external support, the company achieved substantial cost savings while maintaining data security and integrity.
By expediting the migration by a month, TCS saved the lighting company approximately $250,000 in transitional services agreement (TSA) costs. The remote in-place migration solution offered several key benefits like:
