The TCS National Qualifier Test and programming competition TCS CodeVita™ are the backbone of TCS’ efforts to shape the future workforce.
1.TCS National Qualifier Test
A Nationwide Gateway to Future-Ready Talent
Conducted by TCS iON™, the TCS National Qualifier Test is a national-level assessment structured to evaluate candidates on key competencies relevant to TCS’ requirements.
It assesses Cognitive Ability (Numerical, Verbal, and Reasoning) and Programming Skills, enabling the organization to identify the best engineering talent across the country. Designed to support TCS’ large-scale hiring needs—among the highest in the country—the NQT also differentiates candidates across hiring tracks like Prime, Digital, and Ninja based on their performance. This helps TCS place candidates in roles that align with their strengths.
The NQT is also used to assess talent for other streams such as Management, Accountancy, Commerce, Science, Pharmacy, and Statistics through various test formats. Over a million candidates have participated in the TCS NQT over the last five seasons, making it one of the largest talent assessment initiatives in India.

2.TCS CodeVita™
Nurturing Tomorrow’s Tech Wizards
TCS encourages technology learning for college students through contests such as CodeVita. It is the world's largest programming competition and is certified by the Guinness Book of World Records.
- TCS CodeVitaTM was first held in 2012 to spread awareness about coding and has introduced thousands of students to the concept of programming as a sport.
- In the 2025 edition, the global coding competition attracted a record number of registrations from over 537,000 students across 96 countries.
- TCS CodeVita has led to fulfilling careers at TCS for participants. Since 2012, TCS has made 12,000+ offers through this program.

3.TCS Research Scholar Program
India’s brightest minds, backed by TCS
Inventions begin with ideas, but it takes rigorous research and inspired minds to turn them into reality. Since 2010, the TCS Research Scholar Program (RSP) has been nurturing India’s brightest research talent—equipping them to make a mark in both academia and industry.
Over the past 14 years, the program has empowered and mentored over 398 scholars across 47 of the country’s premier institutes. Today, these scholars are driving change as professors, scientists, and innovators in leading global organizations—transforming the world with their knowledge and vision.
