Sustainability strategies for financial institutions

Financial institutions are challenged by increasing regulatory scrutiny, and their clients are looking for greater transparency on where their money is invested and the impact of their investments. With these expectations, sustainable and responsible investing is no longer an option but is fast becoming an imperative for financial institutions.

Subramanian Kuppuswami, the global head of sustainable banking, finance and investments, at TCS, spoke to FinextraTV at the Sustainable Finance Live Conference 2022, held at London and hosted by Finextra and Responsiblerisk. With the need for transparent environmental, social, and governance (ESG) and climate disclosures increasing, Subramanian addresses the extent to which financial institutions are incorporating ESG considerations into mainstream decision-making. He also expands on how broader ecosystems play a role in achieving this transition and looks at the shifts happening in the move toward digital sustainable finance.
