Asda is embarking on a digital transformation journey to make customer experience seamless.
Asda was looking to transform its technology and operations infrastructure, replace legacy and siloed systems with an integrated, future-ready infrastructure, and streamline operations for enhanced efficiency and agility.
TCS is helping Asda consolidate and modernize its legacy applications by migrating them to Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform whilst minimizing the impact on the day-to-day operations to ensure business continuity. It is stitching different technologies together to deliver a state-of-the-art technology backbone.
As part of this major transformation, TCS is involved in the migration of Asda’s fashion management, business warehouse, and customer activity repository systems to SAP and assortment planning migration to Azure.

TCS is reimagining Asda’s digital estate and IT applications, leveraging its cloud-powered Machine First™ Delivery Model (MFDM™) to future-proof the retailer’s business, accelerate innovation, enhance operational agility, and drive growth.
With automation of IT operations, TCS is building multiple innovative products and platforms, like ‘Asda toyou’, an end-to-end parcel delivery and return solution, a first-of-a-kind for any retailer in the UK, and the ‘Asda Scan & Go’ mobile app, which enables a seamless end-user experience.
TCS was brought in as a strategic partner for its expertise, innovative solutions, and rapid turnaround capability to drive these transformative efforts. Equipped with contextual know-how, rich domain expertise and global retail experience, TCS enabled Asda to build a new shopping experience for all their customers.
Enhanced technology makes business robust

With this, the group will be able to accommodate more mergers and acquisitions.
New features like in-app payment, e-receipt capability, and shopping list introduced in ‘Asda Scan & Go' app, enhances hyper-personalized shopping experience and improves customer engagement. The solution has other benefits as well. It has reduced major incidents by 80% compared with last year and has ensured 99% system stability.
