Challenge
Communication Service Providers (CSPs) are transforming and modernizing their networks to meet digital business requirements. The traditional approach to monitoring network health using siloed tools is irrelevant, and new ways of monitoring the constantly changing network are required. They need a new approach to network monitoring, data collection, data analytics, AI-based insights generation, and automated corrections on the network. The key to designing such methods is focusing on how the network data is collected, processed, analyzed, and leveraged for insights and actions. TCS HOBS platform focuses on developing such methods in its Digital Network Operations product suite.
Overview
Today, most CSP network operations focus on capturing the data from various network devices into a homogenized data bus leading to a data lake. It is the first step towards attaining zero-touch automation and intelligent operations.
TCS HOBS Digital Network Operations brings a holistic view to network assurance and fulfillment across networks, enterprises, home devices, and sensors (IoT), eliminating the need for human intervention in routine processes. This highly scalable, multitenant, and cloud-based platform provides a single pane of glass for all monitoring and management needs across original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), networks, and domains.
Solution
The platform offers performance, activation, configuration, fault management, network discovery, home device management, and network inventory system. It provides multi-technology and multi-vendor support capabilities based on network protocols like SNMP, Telnet, SSH, HTTP, HTTPS, and broadband forum TR-069 family standards. The platform leverages AI capabilities to forecast performance alarms and alerts for various network parts.
Our suite comprises of the following:
TCS HOBS™ Digital Network Operations uses a layered operations support systems (OSS) architecture. These layers comprise of the following:
The platform lowers redundancies by developing a common set of functions that can be used across many technologies. The mean time to repair (MTTR) is significantly decreased because of process standardization and automation across service fulfillment, assurance, and operations. The integrated platform also gives users access to a data lake and a shared data bus, facilitating efficient analytics and well-informed decision-making. The integration of AI allows the prediction of problems using algorithms that could further enhance customer satisfaction.
With TCS HOBS Digital Network Operations, CSPs and media operators can benefit in the following ways:
