Wrapping up a transformative week: TCS at Davos

Good morning and welcome to the final day of Davos 2026.

As attendees begin their journey back down the mountain, they’ll take new insights, partnerships, and connections with them. For TCS, it’s been a busy week of dialogue, sharing ideas, and exploring synergies across organisations and industries.

TCS closed Thursday evening with an exclusive C-Level event titled “A Challenging Year Lying Ahead”, where discussions centred on how to navigate geopolitical turbulence, economic uncertainty, and rapid technological disruption. There was a sense that the biggest opportunities lie with organisations that embrace adaptability, agility, and resilience and are prepared to redesign roles and workflows to make them fit for the future.

We will bring more insights from that event this morning, as well as a wrap up of all the learnings across the week.

The evening concluded with a standing dinner and networking, a great way to close a full week.

Momentum is still high across the broader Forum Annual Meeting, with wider sessions today looking at social movements, mental health, geopolitical risks, and the nexus of art and science. You can follow that agenda here.

    Previous days

Look ahead to Tuesday at Davos, where TCS explores AI, decision-making, and reputation

Coming up tomorrow, TCS will be hosting a full day of discussions with a focus on AI, decision making, brand value, and reputation.

The day begins with TCS hosting the launch of Brand Finance’s annual IT Services Rankings, bringing together CMOs and brand leaders to explore how companies are building and protecting value in the age of AI. Last year’s report showed the value of the top 25 IT services brands had reached $163 billion, and that TCS had surpassed a major milestone of $20 billion in brand value.

In the afternoon, TCS hosts “Reputation in Turbulent Times”, a discussion on how companies can build and protect their reputations against a backdrop of volatility.

The day will conclude with TCS’ annual networking event in the Tata Dome, alongside a broader Davos agenda that includes major global leaders and a session on the AI Power Play.

Every business is facing an elevated risk of breach: WEF Cybersecurity report

The Global Cybersecurity Outlook 2026 report, published by the World Economic Forum features a warning from TCS CEO and Managing Director K. Krithivasan.

“With AI doubling in compute every three months or so, the risks of technology-enabled sophisticated cybercrimes have never been greater in human history,” he says.

The Global Cybersecurity Outlook 2026 survey was based on responses from more than 800 participants across 92 countries, including C-suite executives, academics, and public sector executives. AI-related vulnerabilities were identified by 87% of respondents to the report as the fastest-growing cyber risk, with concerns shifting to data leaks and misuse in generative AI systems.

    Biggest threats

“No matter how high your walls, every business faces an elevated risk of being breached,” K. Krithivasan says in the report.

Organisations need to adopt a “perpetually adaptive” mindset, he says, focusing on building resilience and on recovery frameworks that can get organisations up and running quickly after incidents occur.

“The businesses that thrive in the future will be not those that have never been hit by cyber hacks or crimes, but those which have built the strongest capability to recover from them,” he said.

TCS at the World Economic Forum 2026 in Davos, Switzerland

Davos day two: Scaling AI – from productivity to growth

Outside of the TCS agenda, AI and what the future looks like was a major topic on the wider agenda on day two at the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting in Davos. There was a sense that the conversation has shifted toward growth, value realisation, and scale.

AI is moving from “helping people do tasks faster” to changing how value is created, whether that’s faster product approvals, better decisions or entirely new commercial models, delegates said.

The pace of change is extremely fast, putting greater focus on how operating models, leadership approaches, trust frameworks, and skills are evolving. Technology is advancing rapidly, and organisations and regulatory frameworks are continuing to adapt alongside.

One of the central discussions was that adoption will be critical to realising AI’s full potential. Building trust and understanding, clearly articulating value from AI outcomes, aligning processes end to end, and investing in adoption, and change are key to scaling impact.

AI is advancing rapidly in healthcare and is already augmenting clinical decision-making using imagery and data and removing administrative burdens.

The rise of agent buying was also discussed. Instead of searching, comparing, and buying manually, consumers are set to start buying directly through AI interfaces and may delegate purchases entirely to AI agents. While this will create faster, more personalised shopping, there are likely to be challenges around trust, identity, payment, and permissions.

The next phase may arrive faster than expected. Capabilities are accelerating, feedback loops are improving, and the nature of work, particularly in entry level roles, is beginning to evolve. At the same time, new roles are emerging, and proficiency with AI tools is set to become a core professional skill.

Key takeaways from day three at Davos

Today, TCS focused on AI execution and leadership, hosting sessions on AI architectures and how organisations can leverage AI for competitive advantage.

Here are some of the key take aways from those sessions:

    1. AI is transforming work: People see it as both a tool and as a collaborator. It is reshaping tasks, improving decision-making ecosystems, and augmenting human creativity.
    2. Collaboration is key: The most successful organisations in the future are likely to be those that integrate AI alongside human judgement, treating the technology like a colleague.
    3. Intelligent Choice Architectures (ICAs): AI can enhance decision-making by generating better options and this is a key way to support leadership as AI use evolves.
    4. Culture is critical: AI adoption depends on organisations unlearning old habits, redesigning their processes and making sure an AI-ready mindset is present throughout the workforce.
    5. Initiatives like hackathons and “AI Fridays” underscore how humans and AI can co-create solutions and accelerate learning with experimentation.

Outside of the TCS sessions, the wider agenda at Davos also contained sessions on AI, with delegates agreeing that when the technology is implemented well, it can empower employees and improve outcomes. Delegates also highlighted the scale of AI infrastructure, from energy and hardware to cloud, AI models, and applications. This layered “AI stack” is one of the largest infrastructure projects in history and is shaping the future of work and economic growth. You can see more highlights from the conference here.

AI: Who should do the thinking?

At Davos, we asked people whether AI should handle the “thinking” or the “doing” in their organisations.

Some said they see AI as a creative partner, helping with ideas and discovery, while leaving decisions in human hands. Others said they were happy to embrace AI for automation and speed, as well as refinement, as long as humans were kept in the loop.

Across perspectives, one thing is clear: AI is reshaping the way we work, think and create. Here’s the video:

Taking the temperature on AI on the streets of Davos

“The people are what makes the business happen,” that was one of the responses to our questions about what is likely to happen as AI becomes a bigger part of the workplace.

Speaking to people on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting in Davos, we asked professionals how they are navigating a world where AI is already changing life and work. Many see AI as a tool that is helping them work faster and more efficiently, while others said that the future is likely to feel totally different unless a human touch can be maintained.

Across industries, one thing is clear. While AI is transforming how we work, the most successful organisations will be those that enable it to work hand in hand with people. Here’s the video:

“I'm actually very surprised by the synergy I see among all companies in the conversations they are having,” he says. “The trends are extremely common. That gives hope that people are recognising similar problems and challenges and the roadmaps we need to have.”

Here are the key takeaways from today:

    1. Before we can learn, we must unlearn

From today's Future Leaders session: Leaders need openness and humility to let go of old assumptions. The timeline for everything is shortening, learning curves are accelerating due to AI.

    2. Humans as pilots, not just “in the loop”

The language of leadership is shifting. The most critical skills for the AI age are learning agility, adaptability, and AI literacy. Leaders must foster trust in humans and in machines. Teams are just teams, regardless of whether the members are human or digital.

    3. Leaders can start right now

Some practical steps were suggested to leaders, including giving AI the first pass on projects, acting as a “learning officer” by embedding learning into work, seeking perspectives from other industries, and fostering trust in humans and in machines so that teams feel confident collaborating with AI.

Tomorrow we will be back with insights from the final TCS panels and a wrap up of everything that’s been going on across the week - see you then!

Audience stays fully engaged with an ongoing panel discussion

Future Leaders Session at Davos - how to lead humans and machines

On Thursday afternoon at Davos, leaders were hosted by TCS for a panel that explored how the executive of tomorrow can lead in an era where machines handle ever more complex tasks.

After a wide- ranging discussion that covered Star Wars, medical school. and dark factories, some of the key points are summarised below. Overall, there was a feeling that a new era of leadership is being defined, and it is one where leaders need to be able to navigate multiple disruptions at the same time: geopolitical, technological, demographic, and climate.

    1. Before you can learn, you must unlearn

Leaders said they often needed to “unlearn” what they thought they knew before they could build AI solutions. Openness and humility to do this are advantages, as is the openness to being mentored by AI natives, in a reversal of traditional organisational hierarchies.

    2. The timeline for everything is shortening

Learning curves are accelerating due to AI, and this has implications for careers and career progression, we are likely to see performance paths favoured over career paths.

    3. The language of leadership is changing

The language of leadership is shifting toward “human as a pilot” of AI, though the question of who holds ultimate accountability remains unresolved.

    4. The shift to context from decisions

As AI becomes more integrated into daily life, our comfort level is evolving. Rather than replacing human judgement, AI serves as a guide, offering insights and situational awareness that can inform our choices. An example was given of the shift in automation: autonomous cars feel risky and unsettling to many, while elevators, in contrast, are fully automated, yet universally trusted.

    5. The skills that are most important now

The most critical skills for the future are learning agility, adaptability,  and AI literacy. Learning must be embedded into the flow of work, so people develop continuously. AI literacy ensures professionals can confidently interact with tools and evolve alongside technology. Some organizations are introducing “learning officers” to support this culture.

    6. Fostering trust on both sides is key

Leaders must work to foster trust in humans and machines, not one or the other. As we get used to having AI colleagues, teams will become teams, regardless of whether the members are human or AI. A question was posed as to whether people would accept an AI performance review,  and the panellists agreed that reviews could be AI-assisted, but that the final conversation should be with a human.

    7. This is a civilisational shift

As our Chairman, N. Chandrasekaran, has said, what’s happening is a civilisational shift and the effects will be wide-ranging. At a panel titled “How to be a leader of humans and machines? Lessons to thrive in the perpetually adaptive era,” potential tensions between humans and machines were discussed, especially as automation advances toward so-called “dark factories,” which are fully automated, and require no humans and no lights.

    8. Leaders can start right now

Leaders can take steps today to adapt. This includes giving AI the first pass on projects before refining the output, acting as a learning officer by embedding learning into all aspects of work and seeking diverse perspectives from other industries to tackle challenges. Equally important is fostering trust, both in humans and in machines, so teams feel confident collaborating with AI.

Concluding, the panellists identified a dual challenge that must be embraced, how to improve human leadership while also adding machine leadership. Change is already here, they said, but the question is if we can learn fast enough to keep up and to lead.

Intelligent Choice Architectures: How AI is shaping better decisions across industries

Intelligent Choice Architectures (ICAs) have been a key theme at Davos, and were the subject of an article published on the World Economic Forum website by K. Krithivasan, TCS’ CEO and Managing Director.

He describes how ICAs are AI-powered systems that generate, refine, and present options to help shape human decision making and enable better, more informed choices. He also explores the five principles that are needed to build AI that works for business, read his article here.

More detail on this can be found in a report from the MIT Sloan Management Review and TCS, published last year.

Based on interviews with senior leaders across technology, financial services, telecommunications, healthcare, retail, and more, the report highlights real-world ICA applications, including:

    • Retail: Using ICAs to identify talent in local stores, expanding options for internal management teams.
    • Insurance: Integrating ICAs into claims processing.
    • Manufacturing: Simulating scenarios in powertrain design.
    • Software development: Presenting developers with coding options.

    TCS at Davos - Thursday

Good morning and welcome to the fourth day of TCS at Davos.

TCS is starting the morning hosting a private roundtable alongside the Institute for Real Growth (IRG) and our M2030 Partners in Davos.

The focus will be on navigating the macro forces, trends, and stakeholder expectations that are reshaping business strategy. With geopolitics and technology increasingly intertwined, this session will tackle the paradoxes leaders are facing. The M2030 Project, a long-term leadership foresight initiative, provides a set of strategic frameworks to help leaders navigate the key trade-offs, and decisions they’ll face on the journey to 2030.

Later today, we will host our main session “How to be a leader of humans and machines? Lessons to thrive in the perpetually adaptive era.” Panellists will discuss the unprecedented challenges that business leaders are currently navigating amid increasing integration of geopolitics, society, and technology.

They will also explore how these forces are likely to shape the executive of tomorrow, considering questions like: What does leadership look like when machines handle complexity and humans must redefine their value proposition? And how are tomorrow's leaders preparing for this shift?

TCS closes the day with an exclusive C-level event for 50 select members of Executive Boards and Boards of Directors from Switzerland and the DACH region. This invitation-only gathering will examine 2026's challenges and explore the transformation from digital-first to AI-first industries.
