Bekaert wanted to centralize its global HR systems into a single cloud-based solution
Bekaert, the global leader in steel wire transformation and coating, wanted to effectively manage its more than 30,000-strong workforce globally. The Belgium-based major’s legacy human resources system was highly customized and complex, with several sources of people data hampering global reporting. The system also could not support Bekaert HR’s goal of building an organizational culture that upholds continuous learning and nurtures leadership.
TCS standardizes Bekaert’s HR processes with a global, cloud-based information system.
In keeping with Bekaert's philosophy of 'Better Together', the firm's HR division partnered with TCS to become a true business partner to step up skills, build new capabilities, and nurture a leadership culture. To realize its HR transformation goals, Bekaert implemented the SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central solution, a cloud-based information system. As a strategic partner, TCS designed and deployed data migration from SAP ERP and other data sources into a consistent global data layer on SuccessFactors Employee Central. Reverse interfacing of HR data from SuccessFactors back to SAP ERP enabled Bekaert to go live with Employee Central, ensuring continuity of operations.
TCS initiated the SAP Infoporter program, which assisted in complete migration to the new system and continuous replication of data from Employee Central back to the SAP ERP system. The team gathered HR information from across Bekaert’s global locations, validated the solution, and uploaded the data onto the system. It also standardized processes, rolled HR templates, and instituted the change management process
